D-70 is stable in aqueous solutions, but hydrolyzes at ambient temperatures in alkaline solutions.
Catalyst for RTV
D-70 used as a catalyst in RTV-1. Especilally suitable for acetoxy sealant; the catalytic speed is faster than dibutyltin silicate. In order to reduce its acetic acid odor, it can be combined with dibutyltin disilicate, usually using the mixed rate of dibutyltin diacetate; Dibutyltin silicate is 1:9 or 2:8.
