Chemical name：:TETRA PROPOXY SILANE
D-120(also known as propyl orthosilicate) can be used as a crosslinking agent in silicone rubber, and can also be used as a modifier in organic and inorganic resins, and the propoxy group in propyl orthosilicate replaces the ethoxy group in ethyl orthosilicate, so its hydrolysis rate is slower than ethyl orthosilicate.
Note: the above data is for reference only, cannot be as a technical specification.
D-120 is difficult to hydrolyze, and it is difficult to hydrolyze water without acid-base catalyst after contact with water. The addition of hydrolytic catalysts (inorganic/organic acids, ammonia or amines) can accelerate the hydrolysis reaction, resulting in the formation of silanol and higher condensation products.
D-120 is mainly used as a crosslinking agent for RTV-2 silicone sealant .
D-120 can be used as intermediate of sol-gel process.
